IMACON SCANNER

Roof Unit operates a professional Imacon scanner which is available to hire.

Many photographers favour traditional film over digital for their practice. However an essential modern part of this workflow is the ability to produce high quality scans of the negatives/transparencies for exhibition prints or publication.

Roof Unit owns and operates its own Imacon scanner. This virtual drum scanner has the ability to produce digital files of utmost quality, second only to oil based drum scans.

Connected to a dedicated Power Mac the Imacon can produce file sizes of upto 400MB at a sharpness and colour rendition far beyond any flatbed or consumer scanner. It can scan any unmounted film from 35mm to 5 x 4 and the scanner and Power Mac are fully colour profiled and have film presets of almost every type.

A full induction on the scanner is given to ensure you obtain the very best results and a 6ft lightbox next to the scanner for editing your negatives and slides.
